Terms of Use

Asmat Travels is published by Asmat Media LLC, a registered New Hampshire Limited Liability Company. These terms apply to every page on asmattravels.com and to any note you send the desk. Reading an entry, following an internal link, or writing to us counts as agreement with what follows.

If some part of this page does not suit you, the remedy is simple: close the tab. We would rather write that in one line than pad it into a paragraph about mutual understanding. The terms were last updated on July 24, 2026, and they cover the version of the site you are reading today.

Asmat Travels is a notebook about places in New England that reward a second visit. It is written and edited by Asma Tarrant in Manchester, New Hampshire, and published by Asmat Media LLC. The notebook keeps two sections, Rounds and Errands, and files new entries twice a month.

The notebook is neither a travel agency nor a booking service. No ticket, tour, or room is sold here, no payment is taken, and no carrier, hotel, or reservation platform is connected to it in any way. Nothing on the site is a reservation, a quote, or an offer of any kind. What we publish is a record of visits, written after the fact, with the weather and the walking left in.

You may read the notebook, print pages for your own use, and share links to entries with anyone. You may quote from it under the conditions in section 4. The following uses are not permitted:

• Copying an entry in full, or in substantial part, onto another site or into another publication.
• Automated collection of pages, images, or feeds, including crawling that ignores our robots file.
• Using the text or the illustrations to train, tune, or evaluate machine learning systems.
• Presenting the notebook, or any part of it, as your own work or as work made with our involvement.
• Interfering with the site, scanning it for weaknesses, or reaching for parts that are not public.
• Sending us unlawful material, or using our contact form to deliver advertising.

If you want to do something that this section appears to forbid, write to the desk and ask. Written permission is a short message away, and asking has never once been held against a reader.

The text of every entry and the illustrations made for this journal belong to Asmat Media LLC. So do the wordmark, the page mark, the section names, and the layout of the site. Nothing published here transfers ownership to a reader, and nothing here is in the public domain by accident.

Quoting is welcome within reason. You may quote up to about ninety words from an entry, set inside quotation marks. Give the entry title, the name Asmat Travels, and a plain reference back to the page. Attribution without a quotation is fine as well, and it needs no permission from us.

What is not welcome is republication of whole entries, use of the illustrations as stock artwork, or the harvesting of this site to build a dataset. Automated scraping and the use of these pages to train machine learning systems are refused, whatever the stated purpose. Machine learning systems are not readers, and this notebook was not written for them.

If you believe something on this site uses your work without permission, tell us and we will look at it properly. Send a notice to [email protected], or by mail to Asmat Media LLC, 1750 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03104, United States.

A notice we can act on includes:

• Your full name, plus a mailing address, a telephone number, and an email address.
• A description of the work you believe was used, with enough detail to identify it.
• The address on asmattravels.com where the material can be seen.
• A good-faith statement that neither you, nor an agent of yours, nor the law authorized the use.
• A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and that you own the work or are authorized to act for the owner.
• Your signature, physical or electronic.

We answer complete notices within ten business days. While a notice is under review we may remove or pause the material in question, which is not an admission of anything. If we were wrong, we correct the entry and say so inside it. If we believe the use was fair, we explain our reasoning instead of going quiet, and you keep every remedy the law gives you.

Entries name public places: streets, parks, reading rooms, covered bridges, hills, and the occasional back road that closes when the frost leaves the ground. Naming a place records where the writer stood on a given morning. It is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a promise about what you will find.

We hold no arrangement with any business, town, or organization named in the notebook. Nobody pays for a mention, nobody is promised one, and nobody reviews an entry before it is filed. Places change hands, change hours, and sometimes close between the visit and the reading. Conditions we describe were true on the day described, and no day repeats itself exactly. Check anything that matters to your plans with the place itself before you go. There is more on that in the Disclaimer.

We like corrections. If an entry has the wrong month, the wrong count of stairs, or the wrong name for a road, write to the desk and we will fix it.

By sending a note you allow us to read it, act on it, and, where it improves an entry, to publish the correction inside that entry. We do not print reader names without asking first. Please do not send confidential material, and please do not send anything you would mind seeing summarized in a correction line.

Ideas you send us stay yours, though we cannot promise that an idea reaching the desk will feel new to us. The notebook is a small operation with short hours, so a reply may take a few days. How we handle the note itself is described in the Privacy Policy.

The notebook is offered as it is, and as it happens to be on the day you read it. We write carefully, we check what can be checked, and we still expect to be wrong now and then.

There is no promise here that the site stays available without interruption, that every page loads, or that every detail holds as seasons and schedules move. We make no representation about fitness for a particular purpose, and none about the condition, safety, or suitability of any place described here.

Notes on walking distances, stairs, parking, gravel, and opening hours are observations from one person on one day. They are not instructions, and they are no substitute for asking the people who run a place.

So far as the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of this site. That limit covers Asmat Media LLC, its members, and anyone who writes for it. The losses in question include lost time, a trip that did not go as planned, and a door that turned out to be locked at noon.

In any case where liability cannot be excluded, the ceiling is one hundred United States dollars. That figure is not a comment on the value of your afternoon. It reflects a plain fact: the notebook is free to read, takes no payments, and holds no commercial relationship with anything it writes about. Certain exclusions are not allowed in certain states, which may leave part of this section without effect for you.

If your use of this site breaks these terms and a claim follows, you agree to cover it. That means defending and holding harmless Asmat Media LLC, its members, and its contributors from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs tied to your conduct.

This clause exists for the rare case, not for the ordinary reader. It reaches republishing entries without permission, scraping the site, and sending us material you had no right to send. Reading the notebook, quoting it properly, and writing to the desk create no such obligation at all. We keep the right to handle our own defense in any matter you are asked to cover, and to settle it with your cooperation.

New Hampshire law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes arising from the site, or from this page, are for the state courts and the federal courts that sit in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. You agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts for that purpose.

Before anyone files anything, write to us. Most disagreements about a published entry end in a correction, and a correction costs a stamp or a message. We would rather spend an afternoon fixing a paragraph than a season explaining one.

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, that provision is narrowed to the smallest change that makes it work, and the rest stays in force. A term we do not enforce right away is not a term we have given up.

Read together, this page, the Disclaimer, the Cookie Policy, and the Privacy Policy make up the entire agreement between you and Asmat Media LLC about this site. They replace anything said elsewhere about how the notebook may be used. Headings exist to help you find a section, and they carry no legal weight of their own.

We revise this page when the site changes, when the law changes, or when a sentence turns out to be less clear than we thought it was. The date at the top marks the current version, and the current version is the only one we publish.

Substantive changes stay noted on this page for at least thirty days after they take effect. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, the revised terms apply to you. We keep no archive of earlier versions, so if the wording matters to your work, save a copy on the day you rely on it.
